We have supplied and installed many airbags to our customers who need a system or way of assisting of beefing up their coil springs (for leaf springs we use a different bag system explained in another tag) when pulling caravans boats and trailers etc.  Airbags have a lead connected to each bag. The leads are then run to a suitable point at the rear of the vehicle and both leads are fitted with a car type inflation valve (Schrader fitting).  The bags can be simply blown up using a quality bicycle pump or a more popular option is a simple electrically operated pump (usually power from a cigar lighter) which will inflate or even lower the pressures in the bags.  Usually the airbags are run at a minimum pressure of around 5 psi when NOT carrying weight.  The pressures can then be increased as required to complement the load you may be carrying usually up to around 30 psi.  At this pressure the airbags may give around 350 kilos of additional support to the coil springs.  if for any reason this is not enough? Then we are able to offer a heavy duty option as shown in the picture below.  Basically the airbag is placed inside a tough Kevlar sleeve which is then inserted into the coil springs.  The bag holds itself firmer within the coil and allows a higher pressure to be reached usually up to 60 psi.  This may increase the support given to the coil spring of around 500 kilos!

This product is an innovative Chassis Brace that eliminates the fatigue and cracking of GU Y61 and GQ Y60 model Nissan Patrol rear chassis sections.

The factory chassis’ suffer from fatigue due to flexing of the original coil towers, this leads to cracking and ultimately complete failure with the chassis breaking right through. Needless to say that rough roads and 4WDing scenarios and the resultant shock loading exacerbate the problem.
