				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="maintxt1" style="text-align: justify;"><strong>APE Suspension can increase GVM and GCM, being Lovells Springs dealers we are authorised to supply &amp; install &#8216;Lovells Certified GVM upgrades&#8217;.  The DoT will only accept GVM upgrades from their authorised and licensed dealers provided they are qualified and licenced to install.  </strong></p>
<p class="maintxt1" style="text-align: justify;">The useable payload(s) of many 4X4 vehicles today is minimal and designed for comfort with no load so as to sell a vehicle from the dealers showrooms. Additional basic optional equipment and two or three adult male occupants will bring the vehicle close to its legal maximum weight (GVM) in many cases. Add long range fuel tanks, bull bars, winches, side steps, roof racks, recovery gear and a payload of camping equipment or an industrial type custom body and the vehicle will ultimately exceed the Original Equipment allowable Gross Vehicle Mass.</p>
<p class="maintxt1" style="text-align: justify;">Original Equipment suspension is designed for comfort above all other considerations, thus load carrying and performance can be compromised. Whereas, Lovells design suspension systems with matched components for the ultimate in performance, load carrying, and handling.</p>
<p class="maintxt1" style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Lovells GVM Upgrade suspension kits</strong> are fully track tested in conjunction with a Certified Automotive Engineering Signatory over many days to achieve maximum stability, braking performance, ADR (Australian Design Rules) conformity and operator comfort, before test data and documentation are forwarded to the DEPARTMENT of INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORT, REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT and LOCAL GOVERNMENT for full analysis.</p>
<p class="maintxt1" style="text-align: justify;">The National Codes and laws that must be met are extremely stringent and it can take up to 6 months for all data to be analysed in full by the Road Safety Engineers in Canberra. Once the Department is satisfied with all dynamic testing and theoretical data, it is only then that Lovells are issued with certification of Secondary Manufacture for <strong>GVM Upgrades</strong>.</p>
<p class="maintxt1" style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Lovells GVM Upgrade Kits</strong> provide a solution for owners/managers of Toyota Landcruiser, Toyota Hilux and Nissan Patrol vehicles who have a need to carry loads which exceed the Original Equipment GVM specifications while at the same time meeting the practical and documentary compliance requirements of Work Safety, Police Licensing, Insurance, Lessors and Fleet Managers.</p>

<p class="mainhl3">IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BTC UPGRADES</p>
<p><strong>Stage 1 Kit</strong>- Recommended for towing 3500kg-3700kg Apparatus.</p>
<ul>
<li>Kit includes height adjustable fabricated tongue and swivel hitch system. This kit is however still rated at 4000kg braked towing capacity (Ball weight must not exceed 350kg)</li>
<li>Not compatible with most weight distribution systems.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Stage 2 Kit</strong>- Recommended for towing 3500kg-4000kg Apparatus.</p>
<ul>
<li>Kit includes a Lovells 1200lb Weight Distribution Hitch system (WDH) with 95mm height adjustment (Ball weight must not exceed 400kg)</li>
<li>Please note that the Lovells BTC Upgrade can only be complied if a Lovells GVM Upgrade is fitted to the vehicle.</li>
<li>Lovells BTC Upgrade tongue/hitch receiver/drop shank can only be attached to the Toyota OE Towbar and is not compliant for aftermarket tow bars.</li>

<p class="mainhl3">GVM AND BTC EXPLAINED</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Note that The GCM (Gross Combined Mass) doesn&#8221;t form part of a Lovells GVM or BTC Upgrade or noted in our DIT Approval for Second Stage of Manufacture. It is basically governed by the new GVM of the vehicle and the maximum braked towing capacity (BTC).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Original Equipment maximum braked towing capacity for example on the LC200 is 3500kg. This doesn&#8217;t  increase nor decrease when our GVM Upgrade is fitted, it remains at 3500kg. The new vehicle GVM becomes 3800kg (LC200) as noted in Lovells SSM (Second Stage of Manufacture for GVM Upgrade).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The factor that comes into play is the ball weight of the towed apparatus. Whatever the ball weight is, must be subtracted from the vehicles GVM. Therefore, the vehicle can still tow up to OE 3500kg. If the ball weight is 200kg, the vehicle&#8217;s maximum GVM  (with a Lovells GVM Upgrade kit fitted) will now be 3600kg for the LC200.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">GCM is not noted or listed as part of our Approval. Whereas, when a Lovells BTC Upgrade is fitted, the vehicle can then tow up to 4000kg. Yet, if the ball weight remains at 200kg, the vehicle’s maximum GVM (with a Lovells GVM Upgrade kit fitted) will still be 3600kg for the LC200).</p>
<p>NOTE: Lovells BTC Upgrades can be supplied under State Compliance (for already registered vehicles) and the vehicle individually engineered for the State of registration. Includes State engineering certificate or certification plate.</p>

This doesn’t increase nor decrease when our GVM Upgrade is fitted, it remains at 2500kg.  When installed with a GVM the new vehicle&#8217;s GVM becomes 3500kg (Prado) as noted in Lovells SSM (Second Stage of Manufacture for GVM Upgrade).</p>
<p>The factor that comes into play is the ball weight of the towed apparatus. Whatever the ball weight is, must be subtracted from the vehicles GVM.</p>
<p>Therefore, the vehicle can still tow up to OE 2500kg. If the ball weight is 200kg, the vehicle’s maximum GVM (with a Lovells GVM Upgrade kit fitted) will now be 2300kg for the Prado.</p>
<p>A revised GCM of 6000kg will be noted on compliance plate/engineers report by the certifying engineer.</p>
<p>Expect approx. 30mm-50mm lift over OE, dependant on weight and location of accessories fitted.</p>
<p>Now available is our Prado 3100kg BTC Upgrade and envisage installing our first models October 2017. (Note that the BTC Upgrade kit will only fit the Altitude if the spare wheel is moved from underbody).</p>

<h1 class="mainhl3">WHEN SHOULD A GVM UPGRADE KIT BE FITTED?</h1>
<p>FEDERAL COMPLIANCE: New vehicles must be fitted prior to registration. They are simply then registered with a revised GVM as per the new compliance plate.</p>
<p>Vehicles which are already registered cannot be fitted with a kit under this Federal Approval.</p>
<p>STATE COMPLIANCE: GVM Upgrades can be fitted to already registered vehicles in NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia only, and after modification, will have to be inspected by a Lovells nominated State Engineering Signatory. Extra Cost for Inspection and documents will be incurred.</p>
<h1 class="mainhl3">IS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT WARRANTY AFFECTED WHEN FITTING A LOVELLS GVM UPGRADE?</h1>
<p>Vehicle warranty is not affected when a GVM Upgrade is fitted<em>.  </em>Our testing and analysis procedures are stringent and undertaken by an accredited Automotive Engineering Consultant to ensure original equipment components are not compromised. Modifications and load limits are within theoretical service/safety factors to ensure the integrity and longevity of Original Equipment parts associated with increasing the vehicles load carrying capabilities. As Lovells are a Second Stage Manufacturer, it is our responsibility to document these tests and thus take responsibility for the GVM upgrade compliance.</p>
<p>Therefore, should an original equipment component fail and be directly attributed/caused by the vehicle carrying loads to a maximum GVM of the revised figure or part failure associated with the GVM Upgrade modification, Lovells will cover warranty of the component after written proof and testing by an independent body has been lodged.</p>
